Additional Airline Fees
Airlines may impose several other fees in addition to the baggage fees listed above. Airline carriers may impose a fee in a traveler makes a voluntary change to their itinerary and the booking travel agent does not reissue a ticket. Ensure your travel agent reissues a ticket when any changes occur to avoid this fee.
Airlines also charge a Security Service Fee on behalf of the TSA. This fee is not included in the regular ticket price. This fee is $5.60 per one-way flight. If there is a layover lasting longer than 4-hours the security fee may be charge twice on a single one-way trip.
Tickets already include the fuel charge, but the City Pair Program allows airlines to charge a Full Surcharge fee under some circumstances. This the airlines deal with the volatility of fuel prices. To charge a surcharge on top of Contract Flights, the same surcharge must be in effect for regular commercial tickets for at least 14 days. The CPP surcharge cannot exceed the surcharge imposed commercially. Finally, the CPP surcharge must be removed when the commercial surcharge is removed.
Traveling with Pets
The City Pair Program does not cover the expense of traveling with pets. These fees vary by airline and are not usually reimbursable. Check with your agency's travel policy official to see if pet travel is covered.
Flights have a certain pet capacity that is filled on a first booked, first served basis. There are certain size and weight restrictions for pets and pets most pose no threat or hazard. These limitations vary by airline. Contact your airline using the contact information above to learn more.
There are no fees for traveling with service animals. Traveling with service animals is allowed on domestic and international flights. You may need to notify your airline beforehand. There are some animal size limitations that vary by airline.
